Account Import/Export

Account Import and Export in EquiBillBook allows you to bulk import accounts from external files (Excel/CSV) or export your existing Chart of Accounts for backup, migration, or integration with other systems. This feature helps you set up your Chart of Accounts quickly and efficiently.

What is Account Import/Export?

Account Import/Export enables you to:

  • Import: Bulk import accounts from Excel or CSV files
  • Export: Export existing accounts to Excel, CSV, or PDF

  • Backup: Create backups of your Chart of Accounts

Exporting Accounts

Accessing Export Feature

To export accounts:

  1. Navigate to AccountsChart of Accounts

  5. Click "Export" to download the file

Import Process

To import accounts:

  1. Navigate to AccountsChart of Accounts
  2. Click on "Import" or "Bulk Import" button

  4. Prepare your import file with account data
  5. Select the file to import
  6. Choose import options (update existing, skip duplicates, etc.)
  7. Review the preview of accounts to be imported

Import Options

1. Create New Accounts Only

  • Creates only new accounts that don't exist
  • Skips accounts that already exist (by code or name)
  • Useful for adding new accounts without modifying existing ones

2. Update Existing Accounts

  • Updates existing accounts if found (by code or name)
  • Creates new accounts if not found
  • Useful for bulk updates of account information

3. Replace All Accounts

  • Replaces entire Chart of Accounts
