Understanding Sales Summary Reports
Sales Summary Reports help you:
- View overall sales performance at a glance
- Track total revenue and sales volume
- Analyze sales trends and patterns
- Monitor key sales metrics and KPIs

Accessing Sales Summary Reports
To generate sales summary reports:
- Navigate to the Reports module from the main menu
- Click on Sales Reports → Sales Summary Report or Summary Report
- Select date range and filters
- Click "Generate Report"
Report Information Displayed
Overall Sales Summary
The summary shows:
- Total Sales: Total revenue for the period
- Number of Invoices: Count of sales invoices
- Average Invoice Value: Average sales amount per invoice
- Total Quantity Sold: Total units/items sold
- Gross Sales: Sales before discounts and returns
- Net Sales: Sales after discounts and returns
Sales Breakdown
Detailed breakdown includes:
- Sales by Payment Method: Cash, Card, UPI, Credit, etc.
- Sales by Invoice Type: Regular, POS, Quotation, etc.
- Sales by Tax Type: GST, VAT, Tax-exempt, etc.
- Sales by Currency: If multi-currency enabled

- Total Discounts: Total discounts given
- Total Taxes: Total tax collected
- Total Returns: Total sales returns
- Profit Margin: If cost data available

Date Range Selection
Select the period for the report:
- Predefined Ranges: Today, This Week, This Month, This Quarter, This Year
- Custom Range: Select specific from and to dates
- Last N Days: Last 7, 30, 60, 90 days
- Period Comparison: Compare with previous period
Location/Branch Filter
Filter by location or branch:
- All Locations: Include all locations/branches
- Specific Location: Select one or more locations
- Location Group: Filter by location category
Customer Filter
Filter by customer:
- All Customers: Include all customers
