Receipt printing generates physical or digital receipts for POS transactions, containing transaction details, items purchased, prices, payment information, and business details. Receipts serve as proof of purchase and are essential for returns, exchanges, and customer records.
Types of Receipts
- Transaction Receipt: Standard receipt for completed sale
- Hold Receipt: Receipt for held transactions
- Duplicate Receipt: Reprint of original receipt
- Email Receipt: Digital receipt sent via email
Setting Up Receipt Printing
Step 1: Connect Printer
Connect your receipt printer:
- USB Printer: Connect via USB cable
- Network Printer: Connect via network/Wi-Fi
- Bluetooth Printer: Pair via Bluetooth
- Install printer drivers if required
- Test print from Windows/OS settings
Step 2: Configure Printer in System
Set up printer in EquiBillBook:
- Go to Settings → POS Settings

Header Information
Configure what appears at top of receipt:

Transaction Details
Information included in receipt:
- Invoice Number: Unique transaction ID
- Date & Time: Transaction timestamp
- Customer Name: Customer details (if applicable)
- Cashier/Staff: Staff who processed sale
Item Details
Product information on receipt:
- Item Name: Product description
- Quantity: Number of units
- Unit Price: Price per unit
- Discount: Any discounts applied
- Tax: Tax amount
- Line Total: Total for each line item
Payment Information
Payment details on receipt:
- Subtotal: Total before tax
- Tax: Total tax amount
- Discount: Total discount
- Grand Total: Final amount
- Payment Method: Cash, Card, UPI, etc.
- Amount Paid: Payment amount
- Change: Change returned (if cash)
Footer Information
Bottom of receipt content:
- Terms & Conditions: Return policy, etc.
- Thank You Message: Customer appreciation
- Website/Social Media: Business online presence
