What is Stock Movement History?
Stock movement history records:
- All increases and decreases in stock quantities
- Details of each transaction affecting inventory
- User who performed the transaction
- Date and time of each movement
- Reason or reference for the movement
Types of Stock Movements
Stock movements are categorized as:
- Opening Stock: Initial stock entry
- Purchase: Stock increase from purchase bills
- Sales: Stock decrease from sales invoices
- Stock Adjustment: Manual adjustments (increase or decrease)
- Stock Transfer: Movement between locations/branches
- Sales Return: Stock increase from customer returns

Accessing Stock Movement History
To view stock movement history:
- Navigate to Items → Stock Movement or Stock History
- Alternatively, go to Reports → Inventory Reports → Stock Movement Report
- For a specific item, open the item details and view stock history
Stock Movement Report Details
The report typically shows:
- Date: Date and time of the movement
- Item: Item code and name
- Transaction Type: Type of movement (Purchase, Sales, Adjustment, etc.)
- Reference: Invoice number, adjustment number, or transfer reference
- In Quantity: Stock quantity added
- Out Quantity: Stock quantity deducted
- Balance: Stock balance after the movement

Filtering Stock Movements
You can filter movements by:

Viewing Movement for Specific Item
To view history for a single item:
- Go to Items module
- Search for and select the item
- Open the item details page
- Navigate to Stock History or Movement History tab
- View all movements for that item in chronological order
