Organization Profile
Your organization profile contains the core information about your business that identifies your company across all EquiBillBook documents and reports. This is the foundation of your business identity in the system.
What is Organization Profile?
The organization profile includes essential business identification details such as:
- Business Name: Your official registered business or company name
- Business Type: The legal structure of your business (Sole Proprietorship, Partnership, LLC, Corporation, etc.)
- Industry Type: The industry category your business operates in
- Business Start Date: The date when your business officially started operations
- Country: The country where your business is registered
- Website URL: Your business website address (optional)
Accessing Organization Profile
To view or edit your organization profile:
- Navigate to Settings → Organization Settings → Business Settings
- You'll see the "Organization Profile" or "Business Information" section at the top
- This section contains all your core business identification details
Key Profile Components
Business Name
Your business name is the most critical piece of information:
- Appears on all invoices, quotations, and business documents
- Should match your legal business registration exactly
- Cannot be changed easily after setup (requires admin access or support)
- Used for legal compliance and tax reporting
Business Type
Select the legal structure that best describes your business:
- Sole Proprietorship: Single owner business
- Partnership: Business owned by two or more partners
- LLC (Limited Liability Company): Limited liability structure

Business Start Date
The business start date is important for:

Important: This date cannot be changed after transactions are recorded, so ensure it's accurate.
Country Selection
Your country selection affects:
- Currency settings and default currency
- Tax configuration options (GST, VAT, Sales Tax, etc.)
- Regional formatting (date format, number format, time zone)
- Legal compliance requirements
- Available payment gateways
Step-by-Step Profile Setup
Step 1: Enter Business Name
Enter your official business name exactly as it appears on your business registration documents. This name will be used on all official documents.
Step 2: Select Business Type
Choose the legal structure that matches your business registration. If you're unsure, consult with your accountant or legal advisor.
Step 3: Choose Industry Type
Select the industry that best describes your business. You can select multiple types if your business spans multiple industries.
Step 4: Set Business Start Date
Enter the date when your business officially started operations. This should match your business registration date.
Step 5: Select Country
Choose your country from the dropdown list. This will set default regional settings for your account.
Step 6: Add Website (Optional)
If you have a business website, enter the URL. This may appear on invoices and other documents.
Step 7: Save Your Profile
Review all information carefully, then click "Update" or "Save" to save your organization profile.

Your organization profile information is displayed on:
- All Invoices: Business name in header
- Quotations: Business identification
